In view of the fact that many companies are no longer reimbursing their employees for education, training, or certification, The Hudson-Mohawk Section 0200, of the American Society of Quality (ASQ) is considering conducting a "Crash and Burn" program...
We will schedule one or two 8-hour review/question and answer classes. Again, these classes will be conducted on a Saturday; specifically either the last Saturday in February (February 27, 2010) or the last two Saturdays in February IE February 20 and 27, 2010.
Saturday classes will begin at 8:00 a.m. and end at or about 5:00 p.m. with an hour scheduled for a lunch break. Classes will be held at the Holiday Inn Express in Latham.
For those who are interested in participating in a crash program, I recommend that you consider purchasing the "CMQ Primer" from the Quality Council of Indiana (www.qualitycouncil.com) for $75.00 (+S&H). The Quality Council’s primers are an excellent study and review resource. Behind each section of the primer, usually on green pages, is a bank of review questions (answers are provided at the back of the primer). Also available is the CD – ROMS which contain a total of 1000 questions. The participant can take, timed and summarized random question examinations whenever they have a few minutes available (I personally find this an excellent way to prepare for the examination).
ASQ requires that all candidates for certification testing, register on or before January 15, 2010 late registration (with a fee of $50) closes January 20, 2010. Certification examination will be held on Saturday, March 6. 2010. For Certification, examination registration, membership, and fees information please visit the ASQ website at www.asq.org
Because of the costs associated with these classes and the need to reserve the facilities, we will require a minimum of six (6) prepaid attendees. The cost of this program will be $225 per participant (this fee does not include the cost of the certification examination). Registration and payment for these classes must be done by not later than January 13, 2010.
